Many thanks to all of the organizations that completed the survey for our Sanctity of Human Life research Project! At the conclusion of the project, we held a random drawing that included all the organizations that participated and the winner was the Woman to Woman Pregnancy Resource Center of Denton, Texas. Here's a little more about this life-affirming ministry:

Woman to Woman is a non-profit evangelistic ministry, which upholds the sanctity of human life by providing practical assistance, encouragement and unconditional love to women and families facing unplanned pregnancies. Assisting the center with their services is their Medical Director, Dr. Tom Fliedner of North Texas OB/GYN Associates in Lewisville, and Al Camp of Denton Bible Church, Board President.

Founded in 1986, Woman to Woman's services include pregnancy testing and verification; ultrasound; life-skills mentoring, which includes education on prenatal development, pregnancy and parenting; recovery programs for abortion and sexual abuse; coupon and voucher programs, as well as community referrals.

At the heart of their ministry is a strong commitment to prayer, for they believe that without the Lord we can do nothing. Each morning, they open the center in prayer, and the first Friday of each month they host First Fruits Friday, a time of praise and petition. Right now, they are specifically praying for God to open the door for a second location. At the moment, they have one center but would love to open a second site this upcoming year.

Woman to Woman holds memberships with NIFLA, Heartbeat International and the North American Mission Board. In addition, they have received a grant from Focus on the Family's Option Ultrasound Program that provided 80% of the cost of an ultrasound machine as well as training in standards of excellence.

Woman to Woman has also attended Focus on the Family's I.M.P.A.C.T. training which helped them to stretch their thinking to better serve the abortion-minded women in their community. For example they've implemented a linear model for client services, which helps with client flow by giving consistency to their programs.

In addition, a peer advisory group was established, consisting of former clients, who help in decision-making about client marketing, outreach and follow-up. This center continues to utilize the tools they learned at I.M.P.A.C.T. Ramona Davis, Executive Director, says, "We'd like to thank Focus for providing follow-up meetings and coaching along the way to make it easy to implement what we've learned."

As the winner of the drawing, two people from Woman to Woman will be joining us at Focus in January for our Sanctity of Human Life chapel service and for lunch with our president, Jim Daly. Congratulations!
